I LOVE tie dyeing and especially naturally dyeing. Shibori indigo dyeing can really stain a sink. This method will also work on synthetic dyes which I use a lot of my ice dye method. 

Like most homes, we only have one large sink. Maybe one day I’ll have my own big sink just for dyeing. One can dream. Dyeing in my kitchen sink means I need to have a good cleaning method that really gets the stains out. This is my method I use!

How to Clean a Stainless Steel Sink

  • Rinse your sink, leaving it wet.
  • Add ~1/2 cup of baking soda to a bowl.
  • Slowly add hydrogen peroxide until the baking soda turns into a paste.
  • Rub the paste all over the sink using a microfiber cloth, caking it over areas that are especially soiled.
  • Allow the paste to stay there for about 30 minutes. You will see it start to soak up the grime into the paste.
  • Now you will soak your microfiber cloth in vinegar and use it to wipe the paste away. If something doesn’t wipe off, repeat the process until it does.

  • 1/2 cup Vinegar
  • ~1 cup Baking Soda
