Camel Camel is an internet plugin that will change the game for you and your Amazon shopping! Never make an uneducated Amazon purchase again.
I’ve already discussed my passion for online shopping (check out my post on Honey here). I’m not sure I’ve emphasized my passion for Amazon specifically. Basically, I don’t buy anything online without checking that it’s on Amazon first. Camel Camel Camel is a Chrome plugin that will let you know the history of the price of Amazon items. This might not seem that interesting, but I have saved a lot of money using this handy plugin.
How to get Camel Camel Camel
You can download this plugin for Firefox or Chrome. You’ll find each of those links here.
Once downloaded, you simply click the icon in your browser and a popup will come up with historical data for the Amazon item you’re on.
Sometimes this doesn’t work as well as I’d like so I navigate to the website and enter the Amazon URL directly. It will populate a graph with the current price, past prices and average prices. Our treadmill was currently for sale for 330.00. When I looked it up on Camel Camel Camel it told me this treadmill routinely drops to 299.00, and I was not in any rush to buy it so I decided to set an alert.
In these screenshots, you can see I set a price alert for this ceiling fan. You’ll also see from the data, the price is as low as it’s ever been on Amazon!
Anytime the price drops below the price you specify, you will get an email notification and you can go buy your item! Another short anecdote to really drive home my point; I set a price alert right before Black Friday for a particularly expensive gift my husband had asked for. I got an alert the minute it had a deep discount and saved 20%! The next day, out of curiosity, I checked back and it had gone up $70. I am going to keep the alert on in case it drops again but seriously, I saved over $100.
Can you tell I like simple ways of saving money? If you haven’t already checked out Honey you need to read this post. Have you heard of Camel Camel Camel before? I hope it saves you some money!
