Don’t splurge on expensive designer moss balls when you can make them with things found from the dollar store! Only about $4 for 3!!
I am always weirdly inspired by things at the dollar store. Sure, it might not last as long as something from Anthropologie, but it doesn’t mean you can’t make it look like that’s where it came from! These DIY Moss Balls are a simple tutorial with things you might already have at your house.
What you need for your DIY Moss Balls
Pull out your moss and separate it into flat pieces. Try not to completely pull it apart but just make it flat.
Hot glue a section of your ball and put a chunk of moss on the hot glue. Be sure there aren’t holes, and place your hand on the mossy area to flatten it.
Continue doing this until the full thing is covered and use your hands to press the moss flat against the ball.
If you would like and are worried about the moss ball shedding, you can use acrylic sealant to keep the moss from falling off. I didn’t choose to do this because I just wanted mine to sit on the shelf and not be touched. If it starts shedding, I will eventually spray it but I didn’t feel the need at this point!
And that’s it. It’s so simple to create these moss balls so definitely don’t splurge on them from Anthropologie!
