DIY Fridge Magnets for Mother’s Day

I don’t want to perpetuate the assumption that Mom is always in the kitchen, but I think if she happens to be in the kitchen, she might as well have a nice reminder of how much we love her! A fridge magnet is something every home needs. I thought it could be something my Mom would see daily to remind her how much I love her. My Mom is one of my favorite people of all time. I’m not just throwing it around when I say ‘My Mom is my best friend’. We talk daily, and now that she’s my child’s grandma, we’re even closer.

Last time I was visiting my Grandma she gave me this raggedy old fridge magnet with yellowed lace that said ‘Dull women have immaculate homes.’ I just loved it! I knew I wanted to do something with that quote for Mother’s Day, especially because it was a little gift from my grandma! I thought it would be a good idea to revive the quote in a more modern manner.

The more I thought about some other quotes I’d want to give my mom, a lot of inside jokes popped up. One thing my mom does every time she pulls something out of the oven is she says ‘Did you see that? I just pulled this out of the oven! It’s hot!’ Or if something is producing steam she points out to us that steam indicates the food is hot. I’m not sure why we think it’s so funny, but we do. I decided to make these quotes a little more generic than that so you could give at least one of them to your mom too!

DIY Fridge Magnet materials
  • Adhesive magnet sheets
  • Free printable of quotes
  • Paper cutter (or scissors)

This is super simple and I feel weird even instructing you on how to do it! First you’ll remove the backing from the adhesive magnet. Place the printable on the magnet sheet. Cut out the squares using your paper cutter. My Fiskars paper cutter sliced right through it and made really nice clean lines! I couldn’t have asked for an easier way.

I think these turned out so fun. I decided to also show you how I would arrange them into a gift idea! I have so many mom friends and I thought maybe they could use a cute fridge magnet too. Who doesn’t love their favorite diet soda to also go in the fridge?
