DIY Monogrammed Stockings

Stockings are expensive! I could not get myself to pay over $10 on a stocking so when I saw these cute green ones at Walmart for $1.97 I decided I could spruce them up myself.

My Cricut Explore Air 2 is my all-time favorite crafting machine and this project made me fall even deeper in love. These monogrammed letters are made out of faux leather! Cricut sells this beautiful pearl faux leather in all different finishes and I think it was perfect for this! The Cricut made these DIY stockings a breeze! i love having each of our initials monogrammed and I only spent $2!

What I used for my monogram stockings
  • Cricut Explore Air 2
  • Faux leather
  • Strong grip mat
  • Stockings
  • Thread
  • Needle

I used my Cricut design space to create my letters exactly how I wanted. I have a file here that you can use to make your own!

The faux leather is pretty self-explanatory but I would suggest a strong grip mat as opposed to the standard mat.

After this is cut, you will thread your needle and start stitching it on.

Because this is exclusively decorative, you can do large stitches. I pinned them first so they stayed where I wanted them.

This took me longer than I’m used to. Probably about 15 minutes per stocking. It ended up being worth it but if your family is larger than 4 people, I would probably just stitch on the edges and not try to be so exhaustive with the stitching.

I actually did little mini stockings too for my cats. We’re weird but I’ll embrace it!!
