Dollar Store Decorative Lanterns

Use items from the dollar store for these decorative lanterns. Perfect for any tablescape or even just cute setup on a shelf!

I initially thought up this idea specifically for Halloween but now that they’re done, I feel like they’re the perfect decorative lanterns for any occasion! All you need is a little spray paint!

I received free product from Rustoleum to complete this project! As always, these opinions are 100% my own.

These decorative lanterns are so simple to DIY and will only cost you a dollar!

Start by pulling the orange plastic out of the lantern.

Once the orange is gone, I taped off the light part of the candle. Turns out you can just push out the little tea light part of the lantern which would be much simpler!

Next you will start your spray painting! I used matte black, gold, silver and copper. Rustoleum’s metallics are my all time favorite for golds and silvers.

Pull your tape off and you’re all done! I bought these in bulk so I had 36 of these! I gave a few to my friends and kept a bunch for table settings at a halloween dinner!
