Gifting to your friends with anxiety can be really simple! You don’t have to blow the bank. Here are a couple gift ideas for your friends with anxiety.
I love giving gifts so putting together gift ideas is so easy! Some of these ideas are things you can purchase, others are things you can easily DIY if that is more your thing. Or you could combine a few for a fun gift basket.
There are so many good gift lists out there but I know we all have a friend or family member in need of a CHILL day.
First up, CBD edibles. Listen, I know this can be a controversial topic, but these are all completely free of THC, and if you take them according to the instructions, they are perfectly safe. This is the best CBD edible I have found. There are lots of options whether they like sour or just regular gummies. The watermelons are sold out right now, but I cannot wait to try those!
If you have any questions or are worried about the integrity of these, go look at their website. They have medical studies that were done talking about the effectiveness and even have test results showing that there is no THC in their products.
Never heard of CBD? CBD is a natural constituent of hemp that has been shown to have positive health benefits, without causing psychoactive effects. Since CBD has no psychoactive effect, it is an excellent option for people seeking the benefits of cannabis products without breaking federal law or risking impairment.
I think these specific edibles from Diamond CBD are the best because they are the most effective ones I’ve tried. I take one about noon when I start feeling frustrated or anxious about what I have wanted to accomplish, but haven’t yet. I also take one about three hours before bed. They’re awesome before a bath too!
Just a few of the health benefits from CBD are
- Neuroprotective benefits from issues such as
- brain trauma
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Parkinson’s disease
- Huntington’s chorea
- Lou Gehrig’s disease
- Reduction of cigarette cravings
- Join pain treatment
- Acne (specifically from CBD oil!)
- Diabetes help
- Anxiety Relief
Obviously the last bullet point is the one I have my eye on most here. A 2011 study specifically showed that CBD oil showed reduction of anxiety in Generalized Social Anxiety Disorder.
There are a lot of misconceptions about CBD but Diamond CBD does a really good job of explaining these and why they’re wrong. Some think that CBD is like marijuana. It is not like marijuana because THC, which has psychoactive effects, is removed or bread out of the plant to leave the CBD.
However, all CBD is not created equal. Be sure you know the company you are purchasing from ensures no THC in their products before buying (or just buy from Diamond CBD and you’ll already know!) They have a whole blog post about how and why they ensure their products are THC free.
Next is a super simple DIY idea you can do with scraps of fabric. I have these scent infused rice bags with a pattern that makes them perfect for back aches and wrapping around your neck. If your friend has migraines this is a good option.
Another similar idea are these rice bags that I made to rest on your eyes. Maybe your friend has a similar issue and if she does, this is a good DIY for that!
If your friend isn’t already doing yoga, they need to. Restorative yoga is basically just stretching with meditation which is the single most important thing I’ve done for my anxiety. This yoga bolster I made is a perfect gift for someone doing yoga or wanting to do yoga. It is mostly used for restorative yoga and even prenatal yoga.
Baths are also a good way for getting relaxed. I made a couple of bath salt recipes that smell delicious and even look pretty so they’re an awesome gift idea. Here are rose bath salts and here are some inspired by fall. I also have an orange rosemary recipe that smell so fresh and are great for summer!
Massage Gift Card
This is a more expensive option, but my mom gifts this one often! A lot of people are one massage away from a come apart. I personally don’t love being touched and so I don’t enjoy massages very much. That might be something to keep in mind. If your friend always hugs you when they see you, they’re likely cool with a massage. If they’ve said they don’t love hugs, they might not enjoy a massage. I do know some exceptions to this so if in doubt, ask!
Hopefully one or two of these items (at least!) helped you come up with something for your friend with anxiety. And if all else fails, write a note to them about how much they mean to you. Everyone needs a hand written pick me up!
I also have some gifts for guys and gifts for women all under $20! If you’re really close to your ‘friend’ here are some gift ideas based on the 5 love languages. Andddd if you’re running way late here are some last minute gift ideas.
