If found this plastic thing at IKEA thinking it was a toilet paper stand. Turns out that’s not what it was but it works great for it!
Last time I walked through IKEA I saw a cool plastic thing thinking I could make it over to hold my toilet paper. Turns out it is to hold plastic bags, but it’s working great as a toilet paper roll holder! I added a little detailing to make it not look so plastic and think it turned out kind of cool!
What I did to create my toilet paper holder
- Variera
- Copper tape
- White Glossy Spray Paint

You will start by painting your plastic bag holder the color of your choice. I went for a clean white glossy spray paint because there is something about white in your bathroom that just feels right!
Next I added a little gold detailing around the top and bottom to make it feel a little less plastic. I love copper tape and will take any excuse I can to use it!
Now you will put your toilet paper in the holder and make sure to keep it stocked! I was shocked this was not what the intended use for this thing was. If I ever want to get another toilet paper stand, I will probably use this for it’s intended purpose, because I need one of those too!
