I believe I have approximately 30 plain black frames laying around my house. I tried the photo wall collage thing and I did not dig it. So they are pretty much just sitting around my house in random places. I like the simplicity of a plain black frame, but a few of them needed some sort of fancy little touch.
I have used this copper foil tape for maybe 3 other things and thought this could add a little life to my dull frames.
All you need for this quick update is thin copper foil tape and a picture frame or two.
First, I took the back off the frames (but honestly if you’re careful enough you don’t even need to do this!)
I cut 8 strips of equal length and put them all on one frame at once then decided it looked a little too busy. The good news is this tape is sticky and will stay put, but it is also adjustable and easily removable! So experiment away.
As you can see I ended up splitting the 8 strips between two frames. I really like the way these turned out with a touch of metal. They’re still simple, but not so Ikea anymore.
Do you have a bunch of boring frames laying around that could use a simple (and super fast) update?
