Christmas for me is all about giving so I thought the best way to count down to that special day would be to give a gift each day! With this Christmas advent calendar you can make it a Christmas tradition with your kids, use it with your Elf on a Shelf or maybe give someone a gift outside of your home every day!
Iron on can be used for so much more than fabric. I used only iron on vinyl for this full wood calendar!
What you need for your advent calendar
- Wood piece (I just used some scrap wood of plywood)
- Wood gift tags
- Iron on vinyl
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Spray paint (optional)
- Design Space Project
- Mini command strip hooks

Start by spray painting your board if you’d like! I did mine my favorite gold.
Next you will use the project I’ve created for you to cut out your iron on. Be sure to ‘mirror for iron-on’!
Now you will iron on your vinyl. This is so simple! Using heat transfer vinyl almost makes me spoiled because it’s so much simpler to me than regular vinyl. I didn’t have to use any transfer tape. The only real difference I found between fabric and wood is that I like to pull off the plastic on fabric while it’s still warm. With this it was much easier to wait till the plastic cooled.
You can see I also did the same thing to the board after it had been painted!
Then you will attach your little hooks. I did 4 rows of 6!
I tied each tag with some jewelry wire but any ribbon, wire or string will work.
Hang up your fun calendar and now get giving!
I also love the way these look on gifts. They’re the most simple cute little gift tags!
