It is so easy to make candles at home! You don’t need those expensive candle maker kits either. I literally used a cup that was heading to the thrift store.
Tis the season of gifting which means I start making all sorts of household things perfect to give away! If you have a favorite scent and can’t seem to find a candle of that scent, creating them yourself is so simple.
I had some left over beeswax from making chapstick and thought this would be a good use. The problem is beeswax doesn’t look very pretty and takes a lot more oils to make it smell strongly but it still worked!

First you will put your beeswax in a glass measuring cup and microwave it.
I microwaved it for 1 minute then stirred. I continued this way probably 5-6 times!
Add your Frankincense oil until it smells as strong as you’d like. I probably added 20-30 drops! It was a lot! I also added a bit of peppermint and eucalyptus. It made such a pretty blend!
Now you will put your wick in the glass and poor the wax into the glass.
I held the wick in place while it started to cool but it will stay pretty still once it starts cooling.
Allow your candle to cool and you are all done!
DIY candles are so simple. In the future I think I will try to do soy wax because I’ve heard it takes the added scents better. I’ll let you know how that goes!
