These DIY cat bowls are just as unique as your kitty. You can make them as large or small as you prefer and, bonus, they look beautiful! #morrisknowsbest #ad #CollectiveBias
I’m so stoked to share another cat DIY. It’s been too long! I have two darling cats who are like family members to us. That means they deserve full DIY treatment just like the rest of us, right? I had the idea for these cat bowls when I made this spoon rest holder. (Look familiar?) Whether your cat prefers dry or wet food, they all need a bowl!
What You Need for Your Clay Cat Bowls
- 8 oz clay in one color (I used white)
- 2 oz clay in another (I used green)
- Oven proof bowls
- Cookie sheet
For one bowl, you will break your clay into two fistfull sized logs. I did this just so it was easier to hand. Work the clay in your hands so it’s clumping together well and not crumbly.
Next you will dot the color you’d like swirled through on the log shape.
Twist your log shape and then fold it in half. Continue doing this until you get a swirl you like.
Press your clay flat. If you would like your bowl to have clean edges, use a scalpel to trim off the sides. I really like the artistic look of the asymmetry!
Drape your flat shape over your oven proof bowl and then put it in your oven at 275 for 15 minutes!
Once cooled, you are all ready to get feeding your kitty!
We have had quite the hay day trying to figure out what sits well in our cat’s tummies. We’ve found dry food to be the best and they especially love 9Lives Daily Essentials® for daily feeding (then we give them some 9Lives Ocean Medley as treats ) Each formula is tailored to the needs of your cat at the various stages of his life. Daily Essentials cat food helps your cat’s heart, vision, muscles, skin and fur! Check out DollarGeneral.com to find coupons and save on 9Lives wet and dry cat food! Use this coupon code from 4/1-5/31 for extra savings.
Dollar General carries 9Lives and has 3 different sizes of the 9Lives Daily Essentials so if you want to try it, definitely head there to get the size of your choice! With our two cats we need the 20 pounder.
Also can we talk about Morris? Morris is the tabby on the packaging and he was a rescue turned celebrity because of 9Lives. I just love that because my cats are both rescues too! Now he goes around spreading awareness about kindness to animals at several schools. In 2006, he launched Morris’ Million Cat Rescue® to save those animals in need of a forever home. <3 It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.
