When we purchased our house, the designer at our builder told me a custom door was so expensive she wouldn’t even price them out for us. True story! I just assumed it would be thousands of dollars to get a front door I really loved but you know what? That’s not true at all. and my only regret with my front door is not doing this sooner.

Deco Art just came out with a new line of paint called Curb Appeal. Curb Appeal is perfect for shutters and front doors. It is not hard to paint and update the exterior of your house! If you buy the right materials, it’s a no fail way to make a big impact in a little amount of time.

Repainting your door is really simple. It won't take you long at all and all you need to do is tape off what you don't want painted! It will make such a big difference in your curb appeal.

How I updated my door

I started by cleaning off my door. I live in a new community so there is lots of dust and dirt being stirred up all the time. I hosed off my door and wiped it dry with a rag.

Next I started painting with my 4 inch brush. The idea when you paint your door is going from the smallest areas to the largest. You will start by painting the cracks and creases of the door, then paint the panel portions, and finish with the large border. This way, the strokes look long in the finished look.

I finished by door in about 30 minutes! It dried for about a day and I went through and touched up a few spots.

This DIY is simple but has a big impact on any door. I put it against my all black door for a little extra pop. Use foliage or keep it all metal!

This might not look that different than it did before, but I feel like it made a huge difference in the space!

This triangle wreath and string art chair were also DIYs that are pretty simple!
