Use your Cricut to make this funny and beautiful decorative pillow that says ‘Abraham Lincoln Took Naps’ A quote from ABC’s the Bachelor’s Corrine!
I have a lot of drawstring bags around my house because they’re so simple to use in DIY projects! First, I’ll teach you how I used drawstring bags to make this throw pillow then I’ll explain how I created this subtle, but fun look on it using Cricut’s patterned iron on.
DIY IRON ON PILLOWS
Supplies Needed:
- Two canvas drawstring bags
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Patterned Iron On
- Iron or Cricut Easy Press
- Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker
Instructions:
Start by cutting the top and the bottom of the draw string bags to take the strings off.
Next you will pick the seam of the side. It will just kind of start to unpick itself so you’ll know where to do it!
After doing this with both bags, place the two right sides together and sew along the long sides then turn it the right way out.
At this point you will cut your patterned iron on! Use the file I designed in Cricut Design Space HERE!
Weed the cut Patterned Iron On to prep it to be transferred onto the fabric.
Place it where you’d like on the fabric and the use a press cloth to start ironing it on using an iron or Easy Press! See full details of how to use Iron On here.
Allow it to cool completely, before you remove the plastic slowly from the iron on and then replace the press cloth again to iron it on. Always do this to ensure the iron on is on there really well.
Sew one edge. I thought it would be fun to keep it fringed so I didn’t turn it inside out to do this.
Stuff your pillow as much as you’d like. Mine was really small, so I didn’t need to use much!
Then you are all done!!
If you’re curious why I put this on a pillow, it’s because it’s a quote from The Bachelor. It’s hilarious! See the story here! My friend asked me to do a throw pillow with the quote so of course I delivered!
