Pinterest is chalk full of some great ideas for natural dye and I love perusing the beautiful colors. Avocado dye and indigo dye are two of my favorites. When I saw a beautiful mint that allegedly came from a blue spruce tree I HAD to try! Especially because my mom has the most beautiful blue spruce tree in her front yard!

Dyeing with a Blue Spruce Tree

Materials
- Blue Spruce tree cuttings
- Tea Towel or other natural fiber material
Tools
- Large pot
- Something to Stir
- Rubberbands (optional)
Instructions
- Bring your water to a boil
- Place a large amount of blue spruce into the water. I used about a cup.
- Simmer about 20 minutes.
- Place your damp towel in the water and heat low.
- Allow the fabric to sit as long as you need. I let it sit overnight.
- Take it out of the water and rinse.
