This DIY moon pillow is simple and only requires a can of spray paint to get a really cool look for any room in your home.
I had this beautiful stencil and knew I wanted something that could go in a yoga room or meditation area. I don’t have either of those things, but I wanted it to have that feel anyway.
What you need for your moon pillow
- Pillow Case (mine was dyed with logwood. I’ll share the video of how I did that if you want to use the same method!)
- Silver Spray Paint
- Crescent Moon Stencil
- Plastic Drop Cloth
- Masking Tape
I first dyed my pillow using my logwood method shown below. This is obviously totally optional. If you just want to buy one I have them in my Etsy store too.
After my pillow was finished I placed my stencil where I wanted it to go and taped it down.
Then I cut up some drop cloth and put it around the edges to avoid overspray.
Spray paint from about 8″away from the pillow case. Because this purple was quite dark, I did about three layers.
Allow it to dry completely for about 1 hour or more and remove the drop cloth.
Then you are all done! I am seriously in love with this little pillow. And what’s even more surprising is my husband loves it even more! It is kind of manly after I looked at it but I like the modern element to it too.
