Owl Rolo Pretzel Bites – Owl Party Food Idea

Whip up these simple yet delicious little rolo pretzel bites. I’ll also show you a cute way to make them owl-themed for all your owl party food needs.

Sometimes, simpler is better. And in this case that is 100% true. Only 3 easy ingredients and about 10 minutes of prep. These delicious little bites also store quite well so they’re an easy gift idea!

Rolo Pretzel Bites Recipe Ingredients

  • Rolos – These can now be purchased unwrapped! They’re a bit more expensive but it is an option to save you a little bit of time.
  • Pecans – You’ll want the pecan halves if you’re making these into owls because the little notch on the back looks like a cute beak!
  • Pretzels – My favorites for this recipe (and for everything) are the butter snap shape that looks like a square grid.

How to Make Owl Rolo Pretzel Delights

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Place your pretzels on a parchment paper-lined cooking sheet.
  3. Unwrap your Rolos and place one on each pretzel.
  4. Place the pretzels and Rolos in the oven for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Take out the pretzel Rolos and push a pecan half into the melted rolo. Allow the bites to cool for at least 1 hour or until hardened.
  6. If you’d like to turn them into owls, mix your royal icing.
  7. Pipe the icing using a piping bag or plastic bag onto the pecan half and place the candy eyes above the little notch that looks like a beak.
