If you’re like me, you’re not very good at remembering to capture the little moments. I don’t even remember to catch the big moments. I was skeptical of lifestyle videos because of three distinct reasons and I wanted to break them down for you here and tell you why you should get a lifestyle video done with your family!
I had the fun opportunity to have a lifestyle video taken (scroll down to the bottom to see it!) by Steve at Flimable Moments. It should be screamed from the mountain tops how much fun it was and how every little family should have a quality video done. I feel like it would be a really cute ‘Christmas card’ too. Your extended family would love to see you and your kids interact in movie form instead of just a still photo
Here are three concerns I had before I got my lifestyle video. If you’re having these same concerns, read how I feel about it now!
My Family Doesn’t Do Anything Interesting
When I am getting things done, Leo is in the other room with Ryan. When Ryan is playing video games, I have Leo. Day to day we aren’t doing that much as a family and when we do, it’s nothing worth filming. Or so I thought. Turns out our day to day is pretty dang cute and the mundane is the stuff I want to remember. The way Ryan plays with him. The way Leo smiles with his whole face and his tongue out. Or even the way I set the peonies on the console table and forgot they were there but every time I saw them I thought, I need to move those. It’s the little things like that I want to remember.
My House Isn’t Nice Enough to Be in a Video
This goes along with my last sentiment. Your home is a reflection of your moment and this time. I was so nervous to see what it looked like in the video because there are some things that really bother me about my decor. My ‘craft room’ for example is in the dining room. So that’s embarrassing. But I am so glad I didn’t try to act like that’s not what was going on at my house because in ten years, if we’re in a different house, I’ll be able to see and remember how it really was.
When Will I Watch a Video?
I put together a video when I announced I was pregnant and do you know how much I go back and watch that video? Almost monthly. Especially when the family is all together. It is so fun to relive those moments together. I can’t speak to how often I will watch this video, but I can tell you I have already watched it four times and Steve just sent it to me last night around midnight!
See how adorable our little video turned out here!
That is my life. True and simple. No, I don’t wait by the door all day for my husband to come home, and no he usually doesn’t sit and watch me do what I do with my Etsy store but these are real and true interactions I’ll cherish forever. Plus, it was a wonderful excuse to slow down and enjoy each other. If you have any questions about getting a lifestyle video please feel free to ask1
